They are a short pig looking amphibian. They evolved on this planet, messed it up, and now reside deep in the sea. They survive by aquaponics and get power from deep sea vents as well as a few nuclear power plants. They survive but there is not always enough to go around. The Qwarge are known to occasionally eat visitors when they know they can get away with it. They are resourceful, resilient and will do what ever it takes.
